The breath of the wind

There’s a song on the breath of the wind

I pause to listen, hand cupped

around my ears to guide those vibrations.

It is the sweet voice of the season, stirring life

Into those frozen bodies, those who waited,

more or less patiently, for this voice to rouse them.

She laughs as she whispers silkily across my skin,

tangling hair and spirit as she goes along.

She speaks of growth, of warmth, a promise

of new beginnings.  She speaks life

into those beings who have been waiting

for just such a day as this, a day with a song

on the breath of the wind.
